At the heart of everything we do is our people.
We are incredibly proud to share that we have been nominated for three awards at the FT Adviser Workplace Excellence Awards. This is a recognition that reflects not just what we achieve as a business, but how we achieve it.
Now in its eighth year (formerly known as the Diversity Awards), these awards celebrate organisations across UK financial services that are driving meaningful change, championing inclusion and creating workplaces where people can truly thrive.
For us, these nominations are more than accolades, they are a testament to the culture we’ve built together.
This nomination reflects our commitment to being lifelong advocates for our clients, particularly when they are most vulnerable. A key example is our work with a client who faced financial exposure, complex family circumstances, and a language barrier that made understanding his protection difficult. Through patient, clear and concise conversations, we built a tailored protection plan and continued to support him long after onboarding, stepping in when a banking issue risked his cover and again when he suffered a heart attack in 2024.
Our Claims Team acted as his advocate throughout, managing communication, coordinating medical evidence, and removing administrative pressure so he could focus on recovery. Even when the client became caught between employer and insurer requirements, we supported him with guidance, signposting, and future planning. This approach reflects our culture: not just providing financial protection, but standing alongside clients through life’s most difficult moments.
This nomination highlights our belief that learning is the engine of our business. At Waddle, we don’t just hire talent, we build it through a structured, scalable development framework designed to turn early-career professionals and graduates into confident protection specialists.
Our tiered management model ensures every employee has access to consistent mentorship. Combining daily hands-on support with strategic leadership and long-term development pathways. We provide structured in-house training for all departments, and utilise our partnerships with industry experts and insurers to develop specialists. The impact is reflected in our people, from apprentices progressing into assistant management roles, to graduates rapidly becoming high performers and future leaders. With the majority of our team coming from non-financial backgrounds and a strong level of graduate talent, our culture is built on opportunity, inclusion, and progression.
This nomination celebrates Aimee as an example of how technical excellence and genuine empathy can work hand in hand. She embodies the Waddle philosophy, delivering relatable, human centred advice that removes jargon and builds real trust with clients. Aimee supports the wider team, helping to embed her approach. Her focus on active listening, sincerity, and authenticity ensures her standards are not only maintained but passed on to the next generation of advisers.
Aimee also plays an important role in promoting inclusion within financial services, creating a safe and relatable space for clients and colleagues.
Her winning approach is reflected in her work with clients. One example showed her empathetic support with a client, during a highly vulnerable period helped ensure his policy remained in place, ultimately resulting in a £25,000 payout for his family after his passing. This outcome reflects her commitment to delivering advice that protects people not just financially, but personally, when it matters most.
These nominations aren’t just isolated successes, they are the outcome of a culture built on care, development and authenticity.
They reflect a team that:
Puts people first, both clients and colleagues
Supports one another to grow and succeed
Values diversity of thought, background and experience
Shows up with empathy, integrity and purpose every day
Our greatest achievement isn’t the awards themselves, it's the culture that made them possible.
We are proud of how far we’ve come, but are even more excited about where we’re going.
Award nominations don’t happen by accident.
They’re built on how we treat clients, how we develop our people, and how we show up every single day. From claims support to career progression, everything we do is designed around people first.
Take a closer look at what drives us.

Graham came to us for a second opinion on his protection. We uncovered a 17-year-old policy with unbeatable cover - one worth holding onto. Two years later, after a stroke, that legacy policy paid out £75,000 when he needed it most. The right advice. At the right time. For all the right reasons.
If our culture sounds like your kind of thing - honest, supportive, and full of people who actually give a damn - then you might just fit right in. We’re all about growing together, backing each other, and building careers that matter.

Already have protection in place? We believe your cover should grow with you. Our friendly Policy Check reviews what you have, highlights strengths and gaps, and gives honest, expert advice to keep your cover working its best for you.
